wolfgang amadeus mozart has been dead for 226 slutty, slutty years
whats the fucking joke here??? shock value by using a slur?????
(guessing at the intended humor, not necessarily endorsing any of it)
- refers to a post about Alexander Hamilton (I think) where someone asked someone something like “oh so it’s not ok to slutshame women but it’s ok to slutshame Alexander Hamilton” and the second person replied with an intended-humorously worded speculation about the significance of the question that included the phrase “dead for 210. 210 slutty, slutty years”. Humor type: obscure but recognizable cultural reference/meme
- I think the intended humor of the phrase “210 slutty, slutty years” is the absurdity of the idea that a length of time could be characterizable as promiscuous, and also reference back to the supposed absurdity of declaring a historical figure traditionally considered staid and unsexual “slutty”.
I can def see how an intended “humorous contrast” between the (culturally popular, if not legitimate) “respectability” of Hamilton or Mozart and the (generally intended disrespectfully) identification of promiscuity could be offensive, and also how the langauge used could come off as slurs for shock value. you pointed out the second, but does the first also seem notable to you?
edited bc I realized that you had totally addressed the second thing, and I didn’t recognize that in my original reblog
