some people talk about The Christians in a way that makes it very clear they do not know or understand very much at all about Christian histories, theologies, denominations, arts, doctrines, scriptures, organizations, or cultures. really makes it clear that they have an entirely surface level image of “christmas-communion-jesus” and don’t care to even make a thoughtful attempt at extrapolation. sometimes these same people will talk about how everyone is forced to know about Christianity by its culturally dominant position and it’s a fun little bit of irony.
