it’s cool how in 2018 with computer and internet access you can, within a couple of minutes realize that you don’t know how Portuguese vowels are pronounced, look them up, learn a little bit about the orthography and articulatory phonetics, listen to someone pronouncing them, try them out yourself, and come to a bit of a better understanding. I just think it’s neat
synthesizing information is very good too. one piece of information can be very insufficient (the orthography, description of the phonetics, audio of the pronunciation) but all together they form a picture greater than the sum of its parts.
