for anyone who has been struggling to figure out the cisheterosexual implications of this EXTREMELY lgbt song, I cracked the code while I was taking a shower this morning. while we correctly understand it to mean “I know the guys you (bonnie, or a girl generally) could date are really cool but I really want to get with you”, in the straight imagination, when marceline sings “I know all the other boys are tough and smooth / but I just wanna slow dance with you”, she means “I know that all the other boys I (a girl) could be dating are tough and smooth, but you (a boy) remain the sole object of my affections”. posting this for anyone else who was confused
