Welcome to my Wonder Woman fanndesign where she has a neatly clipped beard and a unibrow and her canonical length of hair but curlier. She’s 6'4" and she wears sweatpants all the time. Wonder Woman quote: “They’re like individual blankets for your legs! Man’s world has progressed far since last we Amazons knew of it!”
Please consider Wonder Woman hanging out in the watchtower. leaning back with legs crossed like this
http://ift.tt/2te9cVo wearing sweatpants printed with her logo, reading a book about Emma Goldman and projecting her voice across the room to read interesting passages out loud to Batman.
Wonder Woman’s collection of size XXL volunteer and participant t shirts from charity events. “Badges of honor. But they’re clothing! So practical!”
Wonder Woman would never just take someone’s clothes (romantic/friendly “favorite shirt stealing” trope) but she would absolutely trade, borrow, and lend freely.
People who will borrow Wonder Woman’s clothes:
-Kyle Rayner because he’s a gay graphic artist who plays MMOs and is only slightly smaller than her, so event shirts are already a substantial part of his wardrobe + the Green Lantern uniform construct clothes are not very warm? It’s nice to have something over them in the usually-chilly Watchtower.
-Martian Manhunter but only if they’re soft. He doesn’t really “wear clothes” but he will take any nice feeling object that Wonder Woman hands to him.
-Clark because aside from suits for work that’s just exactly how he dresses too. They’ve gotten identical shirts from the same event mixed up multiple times.
-Bruce but “only as mementos”. He “would never actually wear that” (He does. Alone at home. He refuses to be known as wearing informal clothes or being sentimental but he is. He is sentimental. And he does sleep in themed nightwear)
People who will not borrow wonder woman’s clothes:
-Wally just does not really have a time or purpose to wear a shirt that large.
-Jon has his own thing going on clotheswise (e.g. color coordination, garments that fit close but not snug to the body, remembering to bring jackets) and just prefers to plan and wear his own stuff. Jon voice: Daily routines are good.
-Shayera only wears her own Thanagarian clothes and a careful selection of athletic wear that she finds comfortable and practical (read: sufficiently similar to the uniform clothes she’s used to).
-Aquaman doesn’t like cloth in general.
Diana sees Bruce wearing a suit and thinks it looks cool but uncomfortable. He says they’re comfortable if they’re nicely made, and she wonders aloud about getting one in her colors. Bruce quickly sets to commissioning her a tailor made red blue and gold suit, but when he sees it a month later after several design drafts he’s like. This isn’t enough. Aaaaaaa. So he ends up spending like 6 months planning and fabricating a bunch of themed jewelry.
When he finally gives her everything, almost a year later, she has pretty much completely forgotten about the original conversation (she went suit shopping with Clark once but she found normal black and white/neutral tones kind of boring and nothing fit well) and she’s like
1) Oh, a gift! How kind of my dear friend, I wonder what it is :0)
2) A suit! it’s so cool and I love it! :0D
3) WE TALKED ABOUT THIS… HE REMEMBERED… HE MUST HAVE WORKED ON THIS SO MUCH :0DD
4) THERES ACCESSORIES!!!!!!
Bruce is initially anxious, then, when she responds positively, desperately restraining himself from pointing out each individual item while grinning wildly.
Wonder Woman buying red/gold camo cargo pants online so she can carry snacks: “Nice.”
I’d like to clarify that Diana is 6'4" and 300 pounds and both incredibly built and somewhat fat/generally bulky. Kyle Rayner is like 6’ even and actually heavier but not nearly so muscular and doesn’t have such broad shoulders. all factors together, they wear the same size t-shirt.
Also Diana is what Man’s World medical science would generally recognize as intersex. She has congenital adrenal hyperplasia. The Amazons are a utopian society with incredible medical technology that allows people to live for hundreds and hundreds of years, as well as a reproductive society with a distribution of sex characteristics that resembles that of the human population in general. Neither Diana’s body, nor the bodies of other Amazons, are recognized as “sexed” or “gendered”. There are no gender roles within Themyscira, and womanhood for them is a social and political affiliation shared by all Amazons as Amazons. It wouldn’t occur to Diana or any other Amazon that Diana’s womanhood would ever be questioned based on her appearance, because she is clearly an Amazon by her armor and stated affiliation, and therefore clearly a woman.
Diana is a particularly exceptional Amazon, not because she is seen as alien to Themiscyra by herself or others, but because she is an especially kind, outgoing, and curious person with a particular interest in venturing beyond Themyscira (and quite an impressive warrior to boot).
