via http://ift.tt/2dx9UGC:
does nobody else consider professional/trained performers to be “actual” clowns, in contrast to people who don’t perform as clowns but dress up as them? I’m not trying to start some sort of hellish “clown appropriation” discourse I just think there’s a fairly easy to see distinction between “someone who performs a style of comedy as a job or hobby” vs “someone who is dressed up in a certain way”

eta: I’m genuinely not trying to be like, weirdly aggressive, condescending, or accusatory or anything, I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else ever thinks about… the relative real mess of clowns I guess?
